Miranda is an award-winning storyteller for stage and screen, who lives on unceded Wangal land. She writes about teenage girls, funeral crashers, time-travellers and talking puppets - blending humour and tenderness with a strong dose of whimsy.
In 2021, she was selected for the ATYP National Studio. Her coming-of-age play, Young Bodies/Somebody’s, debuted at Flight Path Theatre in 2022, and is published by Playlab.
Miranda’s second play, Saturday Girls, a queer high school dramedy, was shortlisted for the 2022 Rodney Seaborn Playwright’s Award and debuted at Belvoir Downstairs in 2023, leading to a mentorship with acclaimed playwright Suzie Miller.
In 2024, Miranda was selected for the ATYP Fresh Ink program. Her short musical, The Soggy Swamp Chronicles (co-created with Daniel Cullen) was produced by Hayes Theatre Co. as part of their inaugural Festival of New Work.
Miranda’s dark comedy monologue, Macaroni and Dead Things was recently named the winner of the 2024 Silver Gull Play Award. It was also long-listed for the London-based Theatre503 International Playwriting Award.
Having worked as a note-taker with HardyWhite Pictures and Soapbox Industries, she is currently developing rom-com and dark comedy projects for the screen.
